Young & Hungry Ending With Season Five

Freeform is choosing to not have sixths of Young & Hungry. The comedy series is set to end with season five.

The network has set a June 20 premiere date for the much delayed second batch of 10 episodes from Young & Hungry‘s fifth season and has put in development a Young & Hungry movie.

It has been a year since Season 5 of Young & Hungry premiered with its first 10 episodes and the show has long wrapped its full 20 episode order. The cast was released to take other jobs, and star Emily Osment just booked a female lead in the CBS comedy pilot 25. The delay of the remaining episodes was a bone of contention for fans but at least they’ll get the final 10 and a movie to wrap everything up.

Young & Hungry is the last of the wave of multi-camera sitcoms that marked Freeform predecessor ABC Family’s foray into comedy. Freeform’s comedy series slate includes breakout single-camera series grown-ish, which has been renewed for a second season, and new buddy comedy Alone Together.
