The Way Back (Official Trailer)

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for the new Ben Affleck drama, The Way Back, and it looks like the actor can pull from personal experience for his portrayal in the film.

Affleck stars as a former high school basketball phenom who is struggling with alcoholism and is offered a coaching job at his down-and-out alma mater. As the team rallies, he is forced to confront his own demons as redemption for the man and the school seems possible. Affleck has struggled with sobriety himself so this role has to hit home personally for the actor and could lead to a very honest performance.

The film reteams Afflect his director on The Accountant, Gavin O’Connor. Brad Ingelsby is handling script duties with O’Connor. The Way Back is slated to hit screens March 6, 2020.
