Terrence Winter, Brian Grazer, & Nicholas Pileggi Developing Mob Series

The wise guys are heading to the small screen!

As first reported by Deadline, a new mob series is currently being developed by a group of folks who are very familiar with stories revolving around organized crime. Terence Winter, best known for The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire, is set to write a series for Showtime which is inspired by Nicholas Pileggi’s “in-depth chronology of organized crime in America; which is also the history of corruption in America as seen through the eyes of the mafia’s First Family.”

Nicholas Pileggi is best known for “Wiseguy: Life in a Mafia Family” and “Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas,”  which led to two of the most popular mob films of all time, Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas and Casino.

Terence Winter and Nicholas Pileggi will executive produce the new untitled mob series along with Brian Grazer. It’s safe to say this trio is sure to create buzz and potentially provide another hit.
