The Goldbergs, Modern Family & American Housewife Hit Series Lows On Wednesday Night

Wednesday night had a trio of ABC comedies hitting series lows for the network.

On ABC, The Goldbergs returned from a couple of weeks off and hit a series low 1.2 demo rating and 4.89 million viewers. It was off a tenth from its previous series low.  American Housewife also hit a series low with a 0.9 demo rating and 3.75 million viewers while ABC comedy veteran Modern Family followed suit on the lows and hit a 1.2 demo rating and 4.65 million viewers. The good news was that Alex, Inc. was up a tenth to a 0.8 demo rating and 3.23 million viewers and the same happened to Designated Survivor which hit a 0.6 demo rating and 3.58 million viewers.

The just-renewed Empire (1.7, 5.25 million viewers) led the night for FOX, rising a tenth vs. last week’s fast national rating and matching its final number. Star held steady at a 1.2 demo rating and 3.88 million viewers.

On NBC, Law & Order: SVU fell two tenths from its last episode to a 1.2 demo rating and 6.27 million viewers, but The Blacklist (0.8, 5.47 million viewers) and Chicago PD (1.2, 6.06 million viewers) both held steady.

On The CW, Riverdale (0.4, 1.11 million viewers) and The Originals (0.4, 930,000 viewers) also matched last week’s numbers.

On CBS, SEAL Team ticked up to a 0.9 demo rating and 5.93 million viewers while Code Black was even with the 0.7 demo score and 5.10 million viewers for its premiere last week.
