TNT has given a season four renewal to their drama Claws but they also announced that the fourth season will also be its last.
The third season of the series just wrapped up in August and it has been a very steady and solid performer for the network. The reason to end the series is said to be a mutual one between the network and the creative team. Season 3 of the series averaged about 1.25 million viewers for initial airings which was pretty much in line with its previous seasons which averaged 1.29 and 1.28 million viewers. Delayed viewing was also strong for the show and pushed those figures substantially higher.
Claws stars Niecy Nash as an owner of a nail salon in Bradenton, Fla., who along with her staff begin laundering money for an organized-crime outfit and eventually work their way up to controlling their own empire. The show also stars Carrie Preston, Judy Reyes, Karrueche Tran, Jen Lyon, Kevin Rankin, Jason Antoon, Harold Perrineau & Dean Norris.
The final season of Claws will air in 2020.
