The Connors Takes Big Hit In Week 2

The Connors, despite still receiving a pretty good demo score, took a big hit versus its premiere numbers last week.

On ABC, The Conners took a decent-sized ratings hit in its second week on the air, and the rest of ABC’s Tuesday lineup also declined. The Conners scored a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49 for its second episode and 7.93 million viewers, off 29 percent vs. its premiere last week. It also fell 25 percent in viewers (7.93 million vs. 10.56 million). While many media outlets will point to how bad of a fall this is, the demo score is still very good for any network and it’s still in a good spot unless it drops further. ABC notes that The Conners delivered the network’s best 8 p.m. Tuesday rating opposite Game 1 of the World Series since 2013.

Elsewhere on ABC, The Kids Are Alright (1.1, 5.14 million viewers), Splitting Up Together (0.7, 2.92 million viewers) and The Rookie (0.8, 4.43 million viewers) also fell by at least 20 percent in the demo, while Black-ish (0.9, 3.80 million viewers) was off 10 percent — a tenth of a point — week to week.

On NBC, the network won the race for second place Tuesday (behind the World Series), although both The Voice (1.6, -0.2, 8.24 million viewers) and This Is Us (2.1, -0.1, 8.38 million viewers) were off a little week to week. New Amsterdam, however, ticked up a tenth to a 1.3 demo score and 6.41 million viewers.

On CBS, NCIS (1.2, 11.14 million viewers), FBI (1.0, 8.80 million viewers) and NCIS: New Orleans (0.8, 7.13 million viewers) all matched their numbers from a week ago.

On The CW, The Flash was steady at a 0.7 demo rating and 1.82 million viewers on and Black Lightning ticked up to a 0.4 demo score and 1.23 million viewers.
