The Detour Canceled After Four Seasons At TBS

The Detour, which was was part of the first wave of comedy series ordered by TBS after Kevin Reilly joined Turner, has been canceled after four seasons by the network.

The series, starring Jason Jones and Natalie Zea, aired its final episode on August 20. The comedy joins the recently canceled Wrecked and People of Earth as TBS is veering away from being comedy-centric and is focusing more on general-entertainment featuring both comedy and drama programming.

When The Detour began, it was a breakout hit and remained a solid performer for most of its run, with Season 3 reaching more than 25 million viewers across TBS’ linear, VOD and digital platforms, up 74% in digital views. The series was also very well-received by critics.

The Detour focused on the dysfunctional Parker family and their infamous misadventures, which included a bonkers road-trip, a disastrous move to New York and a run from the law in Alaska. The series also starred Ashley Gerasimovich and Liam Carroll.
