Stranger Things Season 3 Breaks Netflix Viewing Record In Four Days

It looks like people really missed Stranger Things because it broke a major viewing record, according to the streamer.

According to a tweet on the official Netflix Twitter page, 40.7 million household accounts have been watching the show since its July 4 global launch — more than any other film or series in its first four days. And 18.2 million have already finished the entire season. Again, this is according to the streamer & they didn’t release data to back it up but I honestly don’t doubt their stats on this one. The tweet can be viewed below:

Releasing the new season fourth of July weekend probably really helped. A lot of people likely stayed in to binge in between beach time & BBQ’S. Netflix is probably very happy with the results as well. The streamer announced they’ll be spending less money on their original films after losing some cash on the Ben Affleck-heavy Triple Frontier so this probably helps that sting a bit.
