Reel TV Ratings: (Tuesday) – The Mayor & Kevin (Probably) Saves The World Start Slow, This Is Us Down But Still Strong In Week 2

There were a couple of series premieres last night but they were mostly uneventful as This Is Us dips in week 2 but still puts up an extremely strong showing.

On ABC, new comedy The Mayor opened with a 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 & 4.06 million viewers, falling 0.3 from its lead-in, Black-ish, which matched last season’s Wednesday average but was off half a point from its premiere with a 1.5 demo rating and 4.69 million viewers. Kevin (Probably) Saves the World premiered to a 1.0 demo rating and 4.20 million viewers  at 10 p.m. The Middle scored a 1.6 demo score and 6.06 million viewers, 0.2 off its premiere last year but two tenths ahead of its average. Fresh Off the Boat’s 1.3 demo score and 4.47 million viewers was down 0.3 from last season’s premiere but a tenth above last season’s average.

This Is Us led the night by a comfortable margin in adults 18-49, but its 3.1 (10.92 million viewers) was down about 20 percent from last week’s premiere. Law & Order True Crime (1.2, 5.06 million viewers) was down 0.4 week to week but still stable enough for its timeslot.

On CBS, NCIS was down two tenths in adults 18-49 at 1.4, but its 13.2 million viewers is up a little from the early figures for last week’s premiere. Bull (1.2, 10.72 million viewers) and NCIS: New Orleans (1.0, 9.18 million viewers) were even in the 18-49 demo and improved in total viewers as well.

On Fox, Lethal Weapon slipped a tenth from its premiere to a 1.1 demo score and 4.02 million viewers, while The Mick (0.9, 2.53 million viewers) and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (0.7, 1.87 million viewers) held steady.
