ABC’s Tuesday lineup returned from its hiatus on Tuesday night and its mainstay, The Connors, was steady in its return.
On ABC, The Connors returned steady with its fall finale last year with a 1.4 demo rating and 6.88 million viewers. The Kids Are Alright (1.0, 4.72 million viewers) ticked back up a tenth and after being delayed by the night’s news coverage, both Black-ish (0.7, 3.28 million viewers) and The Rookie (0.6, 3.57 million viewers) fell a tenth or two from their fall finales. Splitting Up Together (0.7, 3.78 million viewers) managed to stay even.
On NBC, Ellen’s Game of Games scored the no. 1 spot in the primetime ratings Tuesday, with a 1.5 in adults 18-49 and 6.51 million viewers. However, while it was the highest-rated original broadcast of the night and put up some strong numbers, Game of Games was down from both its first season’s 2.0 average and the 1.9 that its first season finale had scored last February. The return of New Amsterdam at 10 p.m. posted a series low 1.0 demo rating and 5.33 million viewers, down a tenth from its last episode in November.
On FOX, Lethal Weapon (0.7, 3.28 million viewers) matched its last episode while The Gifted (0.6, 1.82 million viewers) was up a tenth from its finale, despite the break for news coverage in between their broadcasts.
On CBS, NCIS was their lone new offering with a 1.2 demo rating and 11.70 million viewers, down a tenth from its last episode.
All of the big 4 networks aired coverage of the presidential address, with NBC coming out on top in 18-49 with a 1.7. CBS had the most-watched coverage of the address with 8.04 million viewers but tied with ABC for second in the demo with matching 0.9s. FOX (0.8) came last.
