The Walking Dead Renewed For Season 11, Lauren Cohan Returning As Series Regular

The Walking Dead just won’t die. The Grey’s Anatomy of the AMC network has been renewed for an 11th season & a familiar face is also returning.

Showrunner Angela Kang announced the news at New York Comic Con & also revealed that Lauren Cohan is officially returning to the franchise as Maggie Greene, last seen in season nine. Her final episode was the same as Andrew Lincoln’s exit episode. She will return as a series regular in season 11. If you recall, Cohan left The Walking Dead to co-lead the ABC series Whiskey Cavalier but it was canceled after only one season.

Season 10 of The Walking Dead premiered last night & is adapting one of the most pivotal arcs from Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard’s “Walking Dead” comic books on which the show is based: the Whisperer War, a brutal extension of these villains’ arrival in season nine. It’s one of the final storylines from the comics so as the season 11 renewal news comes, the series is closer to running out of source material to adapt.

As of now, there are no reports that The Walking Dead will be ending any time soon.
