Mark Wahlberg’s The Six Billion Dollar Man Adaptation Pushed To 2020

Warner Bros. has moved the adaptation of the 70s TV series, The Six Billion Dollar Man, to June 5, 2020. This shifts it from its original release date of May 31, 2019.

The move is in part because of the departure of the film’s director, Damian Szifron. There are reports that he was removed over creative differences in regards to the script while other outlets are suggesting he was let go due to a language barrier between himself and others involved on the project.

The film is now in search of a new director for the project and rumors were swirling that Mel Gibson was possibly a candidate but it looks like those rumors are proving to be false as of this writing.

The Six Billion Dollar Man is the Mark Wahlberg project that originally was set up at Dimension. Bob Weinstein had to sell the project to Warners to get working capital for the Weinstein Co.
