James Earl Jones & Paul Bates Return For Coming 2 America

Coming 2 America is continuing to round out its cast. After recently announcing that Wesley Snipes is joining the sequel to the 1988 comedy classic, two familiar faces from the original are also set to return.

James Earl Jones will be reprising his role as King Jaffe Joffer while Paul Bates is also returning as Oha, Prince Akeem’s stiff-upper-lipped manservant and bodyguard. Jones just recently reprised his role as Mufasa in Disney’s $1.2 billion-grossing The Lion King.

In the upcoming sequel, helmed by Craig Brewer, Akeem (Eddie Murphy) is set to become King of Zamunda but discovers he has a son he never knew about in America. Honoring his father’s dying wish to groom this son as the crowned prince, Akeem and Semmi (Arsenio Hall) set off to America to meet the unlikely heir.

Coming 2 America is set for a December 18, 2020 release.
