Oscar Isaac In Talks To Lead Moon Knight Disney+ Series

Oscar Isaac could be getting back into bed with Marvel. The actor is in talks to star in the Moon Knight Disney+ series.

Jeremy Slater, who developed & wrote Netflix’s Umbrella Academy adaptation, has been chosen to develop and lead the writing team on the project. For Isaac, the talks would be a return for the actor to the Marvel fold after playing Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016. If the deal holds, the casting of Moon Knight will close out the top billing of the final run of Marvel originals on Disney+. Tatiana Maslany is on board to play She-Hulk & newcomer Iman Vellani landed the title role on Ms. Marvel. These series join WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier & Loki.

Moon Knight made his debut in 1975’s Werewolf by Night #32. His real name is Marc Spector, an ex-marine turned mercenary who had multiple alter egos that allow him to better fight crime. The alternate identities include cabbie Jake Lockley & millionaire playboy Steven Grant. In the later comics, he was established as being a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, while, recently, he was a consultant who dresses in all-white and goes by the name Mr. Knight.
