Will Poulter Cast As Lead In Amazon’s Lord Of The Rings Series

Amazon has found its lead for its upcoming Lord of the Rings series. Will Poulter, best known for co-starring in the Maze Runner franchise, has been cast in the lead role.

No details about the characters are being revealed at this time but it is believed that Poulter and the previously announced Markella Kavenagh, will play the two leads, referred to as Beldor and Tyra, respectively.

Amazon cast a wide net in its talent search for the big-budget project, reading actors around the world with casting directors in the US, UK, and Australia. The series, which hails from writers JD Payne and Patrick McKay and director (J.A.) Bayona is set in Middle-earth and will explore new storylines preceding J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Fellowship of the Ring.”

Will Poulter is coming off lead roles in Netflix’s Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and horror film Midsommar. He has also been seen in The Revenant and Detroit.
