Amazon is showing some early faith in Jack Ryan. After an impressive first season run and some great scripts ahead of season 2, Amazon has handed out an early third season renewal to the series. The news was announced at the TCA press tour.
The series is a small-screen reinvention with a modern sensibility of the famed and lauded Tom Clancy hero, starring John Krasinski and Abbie Cornish. It centers on Jack Ryan (Krasinski), an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. He uncovers a pattern in terrorist communications that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale. In season two, Jack Ryan confronts the forces in power in a dangerous, declining democratic regime in South America.
The first season of Jack Ryan premiered last year on August 31 and season 2, which is still in development, has yet to announce its release date. No word on the release date or episode order for season 3 as well.
