Warner Bros. Animation Setting Up Funko Movie Based On Collectible Figures

Proof that just about anything can become a movie, Warner Bros. Animation is planning a Funko movie based on their popular collectible figures.

Warner Bros. & Funko have partnered on licensed collectibles from beloved franchises including Batman and Harry Potter for nearly 20 years. Motion picture rights takes the partnership to a brand new level and could lead to a very lucrative franchise.

Funko CEO Brian Mariotti had this to say about the movie rights:

“We’re thrilled for this opportunity and are committed to make an amazing Funko movie that stands on its own merit. This isn’t about selling toys or building a brand. The team at Warner Animation Group have a unique vision of what the first film should be and we are extremely excited to take this journey alongside them.”

Allison Abbate, Executive VP of Warner Animation Group, will manage the partnership on behalf of the studio. Warner Animation Group’s upcoming releases include Space Jam 2Scoob and Tom & Jerry.
