Tika Sumpter Cast As Female Lead In Sonic The Hedgehog Movie

Tika Sumpter has been cast as the female lead in the Sonic The Hedgehog movie, alongside male lead, James Marsden.

Sega launched the “Sonic” game in 1991 and has sold more than 360 million copies to date, including both packaged and digital games on consoles, tablets, and mobile. Producer Paramount Pictures obtained the rights to the brand in 2017 and has tapped Jeff Fowler to direct.

Not much is known about the overall plot but the film with be a live-action/animated hybrid and it’s believed that Marsden and Sumpter will both be playing the human roles in the film.

Sonic The Hedgehog hits screens on November 15, 2019.
