The World’s Best Sees Massive Decline In Regular Timeslot After Super Bowl Debut

Airing after the Super Bowl isn’t quite what it used to be. After debuting after the big game on Sunday, The World’s Best took a major hit in its regular timeslot debut.

On CBS, the talent competition opened to a modest 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 and 5.55 million viewers in its regular time period Wednesday. Sunday’s post-Super Bowl episode drew a 7.0 in the 18-49 demographic and 22.2 million people. The show finished third in adults 18-49 from 8-10 PM, behind Fox and NBC, and second in viewers after NBC. The season finale of Criminal Minds followed and hit a 0.8 demo score and 4.73 million viewers, steady week to week.

On NBC, Chicago Med scored a season-high 1.4 in the demo on NBC and was the night’s most-watched show with 9.33 million viewers (just shy of the prior week’s season-high 9.41 million). Chicago Fire (1.3, 8.78 million viewers) and Chicago P.D. (1.2, 7.38 million viewers) both added a tenth of a point to last week’s ratings and had the night’s second- and third-largest total audiences.

On FOX, The Masked Singer slipped about 15 percent from last week’s numbers but its 2.2 in adults 18-49 still led the night by a good margin. It also hit 7.06 million total viewers. 24 Hours to Hell and Back was off slightly at a 1.1 demo score and 3.81 million viewers.

On The CW, Riverdale hit a season-low 0.3 and 999,000 viewers but All American held at its typical 0.2 demo rating and 590,000 viewers.

ABC aired reruns for the night
