The CW Sets Fall Premiere Date For Final Season Of Supernatural

The CW is getting ready for a very different fall launch due to the COVID-19 pandemic with most of its key shows not premiering until the start of the new year but to go along with a few acquired shows to beef up its lineup, the network has announced the return of the final season of Supernatural, which had to cut its run short earlier in the year due to the pandemic.

Production on the last two episodes of the 15th and final season of Supernatural hasn’t started yet but is slated to begin Tuesday. According to reports, this start date remains fluid but it looks like the show will have the all-clear to get back to work. If this schedule goes as planned, the first of the series’ final seven episodes will premiere at 8:00 PM Thursday, October 8. The network plans to market the run once again as the final airing of the long-running show.

The CW’s fall season will launch September 18 with the Season 7 premiere of Masters of Illusion at 8:00 PM, followed by the series debut of World’s Funniest Animals, which will air back-to-back episodes starting at 9:00 PM. Up next on October 4 is the Season 2 premiere of drama series Pandora at 8:00 PM. Swamp Thing will make its broadcast-network debut with a special 90-minute episode at 8:00 PM. The former DC Universe series moves into its regular 8-9:00 PM slot the following week ahead of the Season 2 premiere of fairy-tales drama Tell Me a Story.

The international financial conspiracy thriller Devils, starring Alessandro Borghi, gets its network premiere at 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 7. Fantasy adventure series The Outpost begins its third season at 9:00 PM, Thursday, October 8, ahead of Supernatural‘s return. Supernatural is expected to end with a November 19 series finale, preceded by a one-hour special titled Supernatural: The Long Way Home at 8:00 PM.
