After premiere week got off to a not so stellar start last Monday, this week there is some positive news because most of the series didn’t see harsh drops and stayed steady, particularly 9-1-1 & Prodigal Son on Fox.
On Fox, 9-1-1 was the top show of the night in the demo, scoring the same 1.6 rating as its season premiere a week ago and a stellar 7.21 million viewers. The second episode of Prodigal Son followed 9-1-1 and similarly posted the same 1.0 demo rating as its series premiere. Prodigal Son also saw a rise in total viewers with 4.12 million eyes tuning in.
On NBC, The Voice dipped two tenths to a 1.5 demo rating in adults 18-49 and 8.74 million viewers. Bluff City Law followed with its second episode and was down a tenth to a 0.7 demo rating and 4.25 million viewers.
On ABC, Dancing With The Stars was steady week to week with a 0.8 demo rating and 6.58 million viewers. The Good Doctor dipped a tenth to a 0.9 demo score in the 10 PM hour and 6.07 million viewers. The Good Doctor did win the 10 PM hour across all networks, however.
CBS was the only network to not stay as steady in week two. The lone exception was The Neighborhood which stayed steady with a 0.9 demo rating and 5.87 million viewers. The same could not be said for Bob Hearts Abishola at 8:30 PM, which fell from its premiere’s 0.9 to a 0.7 demo score and 5.36 million viewers this week. All Rise (0.6, 5.61 million viewers) and Bull (0.6, 5.90 million viewers) each ticked down one-tenth as well.
It looks like the duo of 9-1-1 & Prodigal Son is proving to work well for Fox two weeks in. Could Prodigal Son be the first new series across the networks to get a back-nine order? Stay tuned!
