Since The CW is holding off all of its scripted originals until early 2021 due to COVID-19 delays, the network has been acquiring established shows to air during the fall so they can still offer some kind of programming. The network has just announced they will be adding the Patrick Dempsey series, Devils, to its lineup.
Devils is produced in Italy and also stars Alessandro Borghi as Massimo Ruggero, a charismatic and ruthless head of trading at an investment bank. His mentor is CEO Dominic Morgan (Dempsey) and when Dominic appoints another colleague over Massimo following a bitter promotion battle, Massimo finds himself named the prime suspect in a murder investigation. The series hails from Sky Italia and Lux Vide.
Devils will be paired with Canadian drama Coroner on Wednesday nights in the fall. The series joins the likes of DC Universe castoff Swamp Thing, CBS All Access’ canceled Tell Me a Story and unscripted familiar titles like Penn & Teller: Fool Us and Whose Line Is It Anyway on The CW’s fall schedule. The addition of Devils will move another acquired series, Dead Pixels, off of Wednesday nights and to the summer to allow the network to air a full schedule of original shows in the fall.
