Survivor Season 38 Premiere Starts Well For CBS On Wednesday

Despite being it its 38th cycle, the Survivor season premiere start things off in a steady fashion for CBS.

On CBS, Survivor premiered to a 1.6 rating in adults 18-49 & 7.76 million viewers, down just a tenth from its fall premiere last year. It was the night’s second-highest-rated broadcast, while its lead-out, The World’s Best, continued to struggle in the ratings – falling from its previous 0.9 to a 0.7 demo score & 3.75 million viewers.

On FOX, The Masked Singer ticked up another two-tenths from its previous 2.4 to a 2.6 demo rating & 8.22 million viewers, tying its second-highest rating in the demo so far this season. Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back grew week-to-week as well, up from a 1.0 to a 1.1 demo score & 3.57 million viewers.

On, NBC Chicago Med posted its second straight 1.3 demo rating & 9.08 million viewers while a crossover between Chicago Fire (1.3, 9.04 million viewers) and Chicago P.D. (1.4, 9.09 million viewers) boosted both shows up two and three-tenths from their outings a week ago. The crossover also lifted P.D. to new season highs in both the adults 18-49 demo and in total viewers.

On ABC, The Goldbergs posted the same 1.1 demo score and 4.99 million viewers it did a week ago, and Modern Family returned down a tenth to a series low 1.1 demo rating & 4.42 million viewers. Schooled (0.9, 3.81 million viewers) and Single Parents (0.7, 2.72 million viewers), however, went the other way and rebounded a tenth from their last episodes.

The CW aired reruns for the night.
