World Series Final Numbers: Last Game Closes Out On High For Fox

Preliminary numbers last week showed that Game 7 of the World Series saw some highs for Fox but the final numbers have been released and the big game closed out strong for the network.

On Fox, the network’s Game 7 broadcast, which featured a 6-2 Nationals win over the Houston Astros, won the night with a 6.1 average rating in adults 18-49 and just over 23 million viewers. That makes it, easily, the highest-rated and most-watched game of the 2019 series, and also puts it well ahead of the 4.6 rating and 17.63 million viewer audience that last year’s World Series closer scored. While Game 1 came in lower year to year, it was able to finish out strong and become a big win for Fox.

On ABC, the Wednesday lineup held up reasonably well against the MLB Game. The Goldbergs (0.9, 4.05 million viewers), Schooled (0.7, 3.16 million viewers), and Modern Family (1.0, 3.92 million viewers) all stayed even with their last episodes, while Single Parents (0.6, 2.66 million viewers) was even week-to-week. Stumptown experienced the network’s only downtick of the night, slipping from its previous 0.6 to a 0.5 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.

On NBC, it was a steady night across the board with Chicago Med (1.2, 7.95 million viewers), Chicago P.D. (1.1, 6.29 million viewers) & Chicago Fire (1.2, 7.45 million viewers) all matching their demo scores from their last airings on the network.

On CBS, Survivor dropped a tenth week-to-week with a 1.2 demo rating and 6.37 million viewers. SEAL Team matched its last 0.6 demo rating and 4.40 million viewers while S.W.A.T. dipped a tenth to a 0.5 demo score and 3.43 million viewers.

On The CW, Riverdale (0.2, 740,000 viewers) and Nancy Drew (0.1, 690,000 viewers) were also down one-tenth from their ratings last week, with the latter hitting its first 0.1 in the key demo.
