Steven Bochco, Prolific Creator Of Such Shows As Hill Street Blues & NYPD Blue, Dies At 74

Sad news took the entertainment world by storm yesterday when it was announced that the prolific television creator, Steven Bochco, passed away. He was 74 years old.

No immediate details about his death were readily available but he had been battling leukemia for quite some time. He received a stem cell transplant from an anonymous 23-year-old in late 2014 and later met him in 2016. TMZ  reported that he put up a good fight but sources close to the family say he simply got tired of fighting.

Bochco is a ten-time Emmy award winner and was behind such classic shows as Hill Street Blues, LA Law, NYPD Blue, & Doogie Howser M.D. to name a few. He’s also the winner of 4 Peabody awards and his series such as Hill Street Blues and LA Law were huge rating winners for NBC.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
