Soundtrack Canceled After One Season At Netflix

Soundtrack has sung its last tune at Netflix. The freshman series has been canceled by the streamer after just one season.

Soundtrack has had a long road to getting its start. The series, formerly known as Mixtape, started as a pilot at Fox but the network passed on the series. Netflix saw potential in the concept and picked up Mixtape straight to series and rebranded it as Soundtrack. The show premiered its first 10-episode season on December 18, 2018.

Soundtrack was described as a romantic musical drama that looked at the love stories connecting a diverse, disparate group of people in contemporary Los Angeles through the music that lives inside their hearts and minds. The series starred Jenna Dewan, Callie Hernandez, Madeline Stowe, Jahmil French, Campbell Scott, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Megan Ferguson, and Evan Whitten.
