The Goldbergs spinoff, Schooled, debuted last night and it posted solid numbers for its series premiere.
On ABC, Schooled got off to a solid start by retaining 100% of its lead-in’s 1.3 demo rating and posting 4.77 million total viewers – scoring higher than American Housewife ever did in the same time slot throughout the first half of the season. As already mentioned, The Goldbergs started ABC’s night with a 1.3 demo rating and 5.13 million viewers. Modern Family returned down a tenth with a 1.3 as well and 4.84 million viewers, while Single Parents (0.8, 3.10 million viewers) tied its series low. Match Game (0.6, 2.56 million viewers) premiered a tenth below its previous season’s overall average.
On FOX, The Masked Singer led the night’s primetime ratings with a 2.3 in adults 18-49 and 7.06 million viewers. Despite being down seven-tenths from its premiere’s 3.0 last week – when it was facing considerably less primetime competition – The Masked Singer still beat all of the night’s other shows by at least a whole point, maintaining it as a strong primetime presence. Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back took much less of a hit this week, falling just a tenth from its premiere’s 1.2 to a 1.1 demo score and 3.51 million viewers.
On NBC, Chicago Wednesday’s returned with Chicago Med (1.3, 8.64 million viewers) and Chicago Fire (1.3, 8.08 million viewers) rising one-tenth from their fall finales. Chicago P.D. came in down from its last episode’s 1.1 to a 1.0 demo score and 6.91 million viewers.
On CBS, SEAL Team held steady with a 0.8 demo rating and 5.54 million viewers for the second week in a row, while Criminal Minds managed to tick up from a 0.7 to a 0.8 demo score and 4.54 million viewers.
