S.W.A.T. Renewed For Season 3 By CBS

Shemar Moore is staying put at CBS. The network has renewed S.W.A.T. for a third season.

S.W.A.T. is inspired by the classic television series and feature film of the same name and stars Shemar Moore as the locally born and raised sergeant tasked with running a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. The series co-stars Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Peter Onorati, David Lim, and Patrick St. Esprit.

S.W.A.T. has a very similar ratings profile to the network’s SEAL Team with both procedurals hitting a 1.5 among adults 18-49 and are within 100,000 viewers of one another. What helped secure the renewal was that it’s now a co-production between Sony Pictures Television and CBS TV Studios. Shemar Moore is also a bankable network star which helps sell the show internationally and for potential syndication.
