69th Primetime Emmy Award Winners List

The 69th annual Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out last night at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, and this year’s races were wide open than usual, with fewer locks than in years past. The 27 awards were spread among a dozen programs but only five networks: HBO, NBC, Netflix, Hulu and FX.

Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale won the big prize of Outstanding Drama Series and tied for most trophies last night with HBO’s Big Little Lies with five apiece. NBC’s Saturday Night Live was next with four including Outstanding Variety Sketch Series. Veep took the Comedy Series statuette for a third consecutive year, and its star Julia Louis-Dreyfus won her for Lead Actress in a Comedy. She made Emmy history with her sixth consecutive win for the category.
