Reel TV Ratings: (Monday) – The Good Doctor Ends Its First Season As The Top Scripted Show On Monday Night

Much like it has done all season, The Good Doctor ended its first season as the clear winner for scripted programming last night. It’s pretty safe to say that this series (along with 9-1-1 on FOX) has been the true breakout of the new television season.

The series scored a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 9.39 million viewers, steady vs. a week ago but a little below its 1.8 season average on ABC. American Idol started the night off for the network with a steady 1.6 demo rating and 7.68 million viewers. What’s significant is that it’s slowly bridging the gap between itself and The Voice, which fell 0.3 to a 2.0 demo rating and 10.37 million viewers. It looks like the American Idol gamble is paying off for ABC.

On NBC, Good Girls followed The Voice with a steady 1.0 demo rating and 4.28 million viewers. Still up in the air if this is strong enough to warrant a renewal. It’s pretty much in line with what The Brave was doing in this timeslot but Good Girls has been well received by critics in comparison to The Brave so that could help its chances.

On CBS, Kevin Can Wait fell a tenth to a series-low 0.9 demo rating and 5.68 million viewers, but the rest of the network’s lineup was even with last week: Man With A Plan (0.9, 5.44 million viewers), Superior Donuts (0.8, 4.64 million viewers), Living Biblically (0.7, 3.98 million viewers) & Scorpion (0.8, 4.84 million viewers).

On FOX, Lucifer (0.8, 3.16 million viewers) and The Resident (0.9, 4.21 million viewers) were both steady week to week for the network.

On The CW, Legends of Tomorrow (0.4, 1.31 million viewers) and iZombie (0.2, 711,000 viewers) kept the network steady week to week.
