Reel Box Office Update: Insidious: The Last Key Scores $1.9 Million In Thursday Night Previews

Horror fans came out with solid results on Thursday night to see Insidious: The Last Key. The fourth chapter of the popular horror franchise grossed $1.98 million in Thursday night previews which began at 7:00 PM.

How does this compare to the previous installment? Insidious: Chapter 3 grossed $1.55 million in Thursday night previews during the summer of 2015. That film went on to open to $22.5 million. Chapter 2 came in with $1.5 million in Thursday night previews but it surged on Friday thanks to an opening on Friday the 13th and turned that into a $40.3 million opening. The latest installment is still looking at a $20-23 million third-place finish this weekend.
