Reel Box Office: Avengers: Infinity War Sells More Advanced Tickets Than Last Seven MCU Films Combined

Avengers: Infinity War is poised to do big box office and if its advanced tickets sales are any indication, we have some potential box office records set to be broken.

The super sequel already broke the first-day ticket sales record and now it’s being reported that the film has sold more advance tickets than the past seven Marvel Cinematic Universe movies combined. That’s right, the combined might of Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Ant-Man, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Doctor Strange is nothing in the face of Avengers: Infinity War.

This should come as no surprise since the film is a culmination of years of buildup with these characters but it really has box-office analyst scrambling to predict how big the opening weekend will be. The film hit box office tracking a week ago and started out with $200 million+ as the potential debut. In the next couple of weeks, tracking could rise, as that was the case with Black Panther which began tracking in the $80 million range before surging as high as $180 million (the film ended up opening north of $200 million).

Infinity War has also surpassed 2015’s Furious 7 as the Fandango’s service’s top April preseller — a milestone that the superhero sequel actually achieved back in March.
