Peaky Blinders To End With Season 6

Peaky Blinders is nearing the end of its run. It has been announced that the show will end with the upcoming sixth season. The new season has already begun filming.

The series had a long production delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic so fans have eagerly been anticipating its return. Season 5 drew record numbers for BBC One so it’s a bit surprising it’s ending but maybe it’s ending on its own terms.

Created by Steven Knight and starring Cillian Murphy, Peaky Blinders first aired on BBC Two eight years ago before making the move to BBC One in 2019 with audiences of over 7 million viewers. Outside the UK, the series airs on Netflix.

Knight had this to say about the show ending:

“Peaky is back and with a bang. After the enforced production delay due to the Covid pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher. We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.”

Peaky Blinders is a gangster family epic set in 1900s England that centers on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss Tommy Shelby.
