Santa Clarita Diet Renewed for Season 3

Season 2 of Santa Clarita Diet premiered back in March on Netflix and like its predecessor has pleased its fanbase. Two months later, The Hollywood Reporter had already confirmed that that the writers have already started work on a third cycle. Yesterday, Netflix confirmed that it has renewed the zombie-comedy for a third season. The full cast, including Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant, are set to return for 10 new half-hour episodes in 2019. Victor Freso stated,

There’s always more story. The whole season one took place over two weeks and season two takes place over two weeks, so they’re still only about a month into this incredible change that they’re going through,”

The decision to renew Santa Clarita Diet is great news for the show as Netflix has been quite selective in handing out additional season pickups. No word on the exact date for the third season’s premiere.
