You just can’t keep a horror franchise down for long. It has been a little over four years since the release of the fifth Paranormal Activity film, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, and that seemed to put an end to the franchise after its subpar returns but Paramount Pictures isn’t ready to let it die just yet. The studio announced that it has set a 2021 release date for a new Paranormal Activity film.
There is no director attached to the film or a cast and likely no script written but the studio has pegged down a March 19, 2021 release date for the cheap but lucrative horror franchise. Even though the franchise kind of limped to its fifth entry, there is no denying that Paramount made a lot of money off of it. Worldwide grosses through six movies, one being a spinoff of sorts, have hit a staggering $890.4 million.
As of now, the March 19, 2021 release date has Paranormal Activity facing off against MGM/UAR’s Tomb Raider sequel.
