Football was tops as usual on Sunday but CBS saw a dip from its long-running procedural spinoff, NCIS: Los Angeles.
On CBS, despite a late NFL overrun, the network saw smaller bumps than usual from having the overrun lead into its primetime lineup. NCIS: Los Angeles actually dipped a tenth to a 0.6 demo rating with 5.55 million total viewers tuning in. Even though NCIS: Los Angeles airs later in the night, it still usually sees some kind of a bump from an NFL overrun. 60 Minutes still ranks as the night’s no. 1 non-sports broadcast, with a 1.9 preliminary rating, on par with its 1.7 final rating last Sunday with 11.52 million viewers. Both God Friended Me (0.8, 6.64 million viewers) and Madam Secretary (0.4, 4.23 million viewers) are currently even with their episodes from a week ago.
On Fox, all of their comedies returned from a week off, starting with The Simpsons, which scored the same 0.8 demo score and 2.03 million viewers as its last, non-NFL-boosted episode. The same could not be said for Bless the Harts (0.5, 1.34 million viewers), Bob’s Burgers (0.6, 1.51 million viewers), and Family Guy (0.6, 1.60 million viewers), all of which fell to new season lows in the 18-49 demo.
On The CW, Batwoman (0.3, 1.16 million viewers) and Supergirl (0.2, 810,000 viewers) both matched their ratings from a week ago. It should be noted that other than The Flash, Batwoman is the only Arrowverse series currently running that hasn’t fallen below 1 million total viewers, despite the “negative” reception some internet trolls have tried to bestow upon it.
On ABC, America’s Funniest Home Videos returned to new season highs in both the adults 18-49 (0.9) and total viewer (5.45 million) measures. Meanwhile, Kids Say the Darndest Things (0.6, 4.13 million viewers), Shark Tank (0.6, 3.42 million viewers), and The Rookie (0.5, 3.48 million viewers) all stayed even week-to-week.
On NBC, the New England vs. Baltimore game topped the night with a 5.9 average rating in adults 18-49 and 19.26 million viewers.
