Michael Bay Lands Deal With Sony Pictures

As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, director Michael Bay and his Bay Films company have signed a first-look deal with Sony Pictures for both film and television.

His latest feature, Black Five will be part of the deal. While plot details about the thriller are being kept secret,  what is known about the film is that it centers on an elite military team.

Bay is best known for his over the top action sequences in films including the Transformers franchise, which has grossed over $1.5 billion at the North American box office. Bay is also a producer on John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place and its upcoming sequel.

In regards to television, Bay executive produces Amazon’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and serves as an exec producer on USA’s anthology series, The Purge.
