Singer, songwriter, and Grammy winner Taylor Swift is heading to the big screen as she’s joined a star-studded cast that includes Academy Award winner Robert De Niro, Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington In David O. Russell’s upcoming film.
While there is no word on Swift’s role in the film, the addition of the star is huge as she is a huge draw and the plan is for the film to be released theatrically via 20th Century Studios, the added star-power is set to increase box office revenue upon the film’s release.
The project marks David O. Russell’s return to the movies following the 2015 release of Joy, which starred Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence. The new film will also see him directing using his own original screenplay, which reportedly follows a doctor and a lawyer who form an unlikely partnership.
In regards to Swift and previous acting roles, she was featured in 2019’s Cats, a small supporting role in the 2010 romantic comedy, Valentine’s Day, the animated movie The Lorax, and The Giver.
