MGM is set to remake the 1983 comedy classic, Valley Girl. Their new version will be revamped as a musical starring Jessica Rothe as the title character who falls for the lead singer of punk band the Propheteers played by Josh Whitehouse (Poldark) in the role made famous by Nicolas Cage in the original film. The remake begins filming in Los Angeles early this year.
