Creed 2 Has a New Director and Its “Ivan Drago Jr.”

In a surprising move, Sylvester Stallone has stepped down as the director of the upcoming Creed 2. In his place, MGM and Warner Bros have announced that Steven Caple Jr. will instead be in the director’s chair for the upcoming film. Both Stallone and Michael B. Jordan will both reprise their roles as Adonis and Rocky. Stallone stated,

“The character of Adonis Creed reflects this generation and its challenges. I believe it’s important for the director to also be a part of this generation like I was in mine, to make the story as relatable as possible. We are extremely lucky to have the talented young filmmaker Steven Caple Jr. step up and accept the role of director. I am confident that he and Michael B. Jordan will hit it out of the park!”

Along with the director news, Sly jokingly teased who might be taking the role of Ivan Drago Jr. in the upcoming film. Stallone has been doing a lot of promotion for the second film and posted on his Instagram that WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar will be playing the role.
