The Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society (LAOFCS) has announced their nominations and Black Panther and The Favourite lead the pack with ten nominations each.
Not too far behind those films is A Star is Born which earned 9 nominations and BlacKkKlansman which earned 8 nominations. Also making its presence known is the little indie that could, Eighth Grade, with six nominations and If Beale Street Could Talk continues to be a part of the conversation with five nominations.
In total, the Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society members have nominated over fifty different films ranging from smaller art-house releases to major blockbusters and this could be an indication of where the Oscar nominations could be headed. The 2nd Annual Awards Ceremony will be held on January 9th, 2019, at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles.
