Joker’s Joaquin Phoenix Addresses Likelihood Of Sequel

When Joker was released, it was stated this would be stand alone film. As it continues to dominate the box office, questions of a sequel have come into play. Appearing on Popcorn with Peter Travers earlier this month, Phoenix was asked if Arthur could be considered a dream role for him.

“I wouldn’t have thought of this as my dream role, but now, honestly, I can’t stop thinking about it,” he stated.

“I talk to Todd a lot about what else we might be able to do. In general, just working together, but also specifically: ‘Is there something else with Joker that might be interesting?'”

“I don’t know that there is,” before adding how the possibilities for where this character could go seem “endless”.

While I personally feel there should be a sequel to the film, the thoughts of this Joker interacting with Batman simply can not be ignored.
