James Gunn is looking to add some WWE action to his Suicide Squad sequel. It is being reported that John Cena is in talks to join the film.
It’s not being reported who he will be playing but theories online include Ratcatcher, King Shark, or Polka Dot Man. Cena would join returning characters like Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang, Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller & Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag. Idris Elba is also joining the cast as a new character after originally being cast to replace Will Smith as Deadshot.
James Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel is almost being talked about as if it’s a soft reboot but several key cast members are returning and he’s also looking to add new characters and faces to round out his cast.
Suicide Squad 2 is currently dated for August 6, 2021
