Jersey Shore Family Vacation Renewed For Season Two By MTV Ahead Of Season One Premiere

You’ll be able to gym, tan & laundry for a second season of the Jersey Shore reunion before the first season even premieres. MTV has renewed Jersey Shore Family Vacation for a second season ahead of its season premiere.

MTV has faith in its unscripted programming due to a solid surge in ratings from its other offerings on the network. After years of declines, MTV has posted nine consecutive months of year-over-year growth in primetime Live+same day ratings among adults 18-49, its longest streak since 2000. In the span of those nine months, MTV’s 18-49 numbers have risen 20% year-over-year, the most among the top 40 cable networks, with original series premieres up 34% vs year ago.

The network stepped away a bit from reality programming when their scripted series such as Teen Wolf became a bit hot with their target audience. This led to more scripted programming but in recent years their various shows didn’t see the staying power that Teen Wolf had. That series ended its six season run last year.

MTV’s unscripted shows such as Teen Mom, The Challenge and The Floribama Shore saw a resurgence for the network with the latter series, an offshoot of The Jersey Shore, being one of their most popular new series. That show has also been renewed for a second season.

Jersey Shore Family Vacation features original Jersey Shore housemates Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio,” Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino who reunite in Miami for the vacation of a lifetime. The series is set to premiere on April 5.
