Jai Courtney Returning For Suicide Squad 2

A lot is changing with James Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel from the first film but it looks like Jai Courtney is reprising his role as Captain Boomerang in the next movie.

“We’re getting ready to shoot in a few months’ time,” Courtney said while promoting his next film, Storm Boy. “There’s not much else I can reveal about it but, yeah, you’ll be seeing Boomerang back for sure.” This information was shared with “The Business Insider.”

Fans have been curious about where James Gunn is taking the new film. There is speculation that Gunn will use other Suicide Squad members or even recast current ones. Will Smith is out as Deadshot, due to scheduling conflicts, & Idris Elba has been in talks to replace him. Margot Robbie is likely to return since she’s reprising her role of Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey. The rest of the cast is anyone’s guess at this point. I trust Gunn though & think he’ll take casting & characters in the best direction.

Suicide Squad 2 has a release date of August 6, 2021.
