In a bit of interesting casting news, Sony Pictures has cast J.B. Smoove in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Smoove is the first new cast member to be announced for the sequel since Jake Gyllenhaal was revealed to be playing Mysterio.
This doesn’t appear to be a throwaway role that Sony has cast him in. Reports say that Smoove will be one of the leads in the ensemble but they haven’t revealed any details about who he will be playing. Time for comic book fans to start speculating!
Jon Watts is directing the comic book sequel which brings back Tom Holland as the title character. Michael Keaton, Zendaya, and Marisa Tomei are also on board to return as well.
