Incredibles 2 Earns Record $18.5 Million In Thursday Previews

Incredibles 2 is positioned to break some serious records this weekend if the preview numbers are any indication. The long-awaited sequel grossed $18.5 million in Thursday night previews, a record for an animated film.

The previous record was held by Finding Dory which grossed $9.2 million in Thursday night previews. That film currently holds the record for biggest opening for an animated film with $135 million. If last night’s number is any indication, Incredibles 2 is likely to beat that this weekend.

It has been nearly 14 years since The Incredibles played on the big screen, opening to $70.5 million in November 2004 on its way to earning $633 million globally, not adjusted for inflation.
