Shia LaBeouf revisits his tragic upbringing in the first trailer for Honey Boy and it looks like this will continue a resurgence for the actor as he starts a new phase of his career.
Honey Boy is said to be a fictionalized version of LaBeouf’s life but if you have some knowledge of his rise in Hollywood, you will see shades of real-life drama in this trailer.
LaBeouf based the screenplay on his own experiences, telling the story, as Amazon describes, of a young actor’s stormy childhood and early adult years as he struggles to reconcile with his father and deal with his mental health. Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place) takes on the fictionalized young version of LaBeouf while Lucas Hedges (Manchester by the Sea, Boy Erased) portrays him as he grows older. LaBeouf himself plays a version of his own father, an ex-rodeo clown and a felon.
Honey Boy hits screens on November 8.
