Focus has released the first trailer for Harriet, their movie about heroic abolitionist Harriet Tubman, starring Cynthia Erivo and it looks to bring her inspirational story to life.
The film follows Tubman’s escape from slavery and subsequent missions to free dozens of slaves through the Underground Railroad in the face of growing pre-Civil War adversity. The movie also stars Leslie Odom Jr., Janelle Monáe, Joe Alwyn, Jennifer Nettles, and Clarke Peters with Kasi Lemmons at the helm from a screenplay she co-wrote with Gregory Allen Howard.
Harriet hits screens on November 1.
