Suicide Squad 2 Loses Its Director

Suicide Squad, despite not being a great installment in the DCEU,  not only made a ton of money, but went on to win an Academy Award for Best Make-Up. Despite the success finically, director David Ayer was criticized for his choices in directing the film. As we fast forward to 2017 and  Warner Bros. beings its planning its sequel, it looks like the film is already off to a bad start.

According Deadline, the film has already lost its director. Jaume Collet-Serra, was labeled as the frontrunner to direct Suicide Squad 2, has signed onto Disney’s upcoming Jungle Cruise starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, which means that he is out of the running to direct Suicide Squad 2.

Some of the names considered to direct have been Mel Gibson, Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer, and Warm Bodies director Jonathan Levine. It’s safe to say that the struggles with this film is little surprise as the DCEU has consistently struggled in most of the production of their films.
